Meet Dudley, The Heartthrob. – Adopted
This sweet boy was found as a stray with a very badly infected tail last fall in a small farming community in Northern California. Realizing what a special boy he was, the shelter stretched its resources to get him to some emergency help prior to him coming to NorCal Bulldog Rescue. It doesn’t take long for anyone who spends time with this boy to realize that he is worth whatever effort is needed to help him. And now after several months of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from a serious infection, he is better than new. He is current on vaccines, is heartworm negative and his only current medication is his twice-daily drops for dry eye. He currently weighs 63 lbs and his estimated age is 4-6.
Despite all the vet visits, medications, medicated baths, and surgeries he has always shown this wonderful trusting temperament to everyone. Thankfully that has made him very popular with the vet staff who has cared for him. His foster mom thinks that he was loved in his previous home since he knows “wait and sit” and has this trusting loving spirit. Likely his medical situation was beyond their ability to care for him.
In his foster home, he has enjoyed the company of two other rescues, who he considers his buddies. His favorite things are sleeping late, a big soft comforter to snuggle in at night, and his meals. The only time he seems to bark is if dinner is late.
He knows how to use a dog door but will need a home willing to help with the transition to living in a new environment. He could be placed with a well-socialized spayed female. Since we do not know his prior history, no kids under 10. No history with cats. He will be placed in Northern California and a yard is required, Prior bulldog experience is a plus. Since he craves human contact, someone who works from home or is home most of the time would be ideal.
