Meet Joey – Adopted
Joey – Age 5 months. Although my real name is Joey my foster mom calls me sweetie because she says that is what I am. I am a typical active puppy with a zest for life. I love zipping around the yard and keeping up with the other big adult dogs. I am learning a lot about life from my roomies. I have to confess I like to spoon at night with one of the other rescues. I think he likes it too.
I have a beautiful coat, big open eyes, and a short little tail that will wag when I am happy (which is almost all of the time.) Oh, and I love mealtimes. My mom says that is the only time I bark….from the time I hear her pick up my food bowl until she puts it down with yummy stuff. I think life is just great.
My only issue is that I was born with a “heart murmur.” I had a complete cardiac exam just last week and the special heart doctor says I did not need any medication. I have something called pulmonic stenosis. If it stays as it is now, my prognosis is good for having a possible normal life span. It is unknown whether it will get worse as I grow so I will go back to see my special doctor in a year to see how I am doing. I am looking for an understanding new family (and maybe also a dog that will be my spooning buddy at night) who is ready for the fun and work of owning a puppy. Since I am a typical active puppy, very young children might not be able to set limits with my enthusiasm.
