Meet Maddie – Adopted
I am a cute 13-month-old female who weighs 46 lbs and is looking for a new family. I was surrendered to an animal shelter when my owner’s medical issues progressed to the point where they could no longer care for me. Sadly I had not been given the vet care I needed when I developed a skin condition that sometimes puppies can develop during their first year of life. Although easy to treat, I didn’t get any treatment. Now that I have been in rescue only a couple of weeks my hair is starting to grow back and I am feeling like a new girl. I will be on an antibiotic for another few weeks which will be sent to my new home with me.
I am perfectly potty trained. I am lacking in self-confidence but I have begun to feel much braver and more trusting now that I am in my foster home. I like to go out with the other dogs and am learning how to interact and not let my puppy enthusiasm overwhelm them. I need a patient family who will help me get over my fear of new things. I have already learned a lot in a short period of time. My mom says I am hungry for affection. I want to be near my person and will crawl into your lap with every opportunity. I have two different color eyes, one is a golden color, the other a bright blue. My mom says it makes me look exotic!
I got spayed yesterday and I was a very brave girl and am feeling fine today. My foster mom says I cannot run around like usual for another couple of weeks until I am completely recovered from my surgery.
I could be placed with another well-socialized dog that would be willing to put up with my puppy-like enthusiasm. I like to go out and smell around the yard when I take care of my potty needs so I would do better with a yard. I should be fine with kids old enough to set limits when I jump on them for affection. Let’s say over 10. I will be placed in Northern California only. Since I am so hoping for lots of lap time, someone who is home more is preferred
and past bulldog experience is always a plus.
