Meet Sancho – Adopted

Sancho: He is appropriately named since he is a real lover. Despite many challenges in his short 2 years, he is an upbeat happy little guy who loves nothing more than attention from his foster mom and dad and hanging out with his other rescue buddies. He was surrendered to a local animal shelter due to an urgent situation stemming from domestic abuse in the home where he had been living with his family including 2 very young children. Reports are that his left eye was removed at 8 months of age, no reason is available.

He adapted to the shelter quickly and soon became one of the staff’s favorites. That seems to be this little guy’s approach to life, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. He was born with a heart murmur which is medically significant, but of which he is totally unaware. He is happy, loves to chase a ball, and appears normal in every other way. He recently had a cardiac workup by a veterinary cardiologist and he was started on a medication to help his heart work more effectively. He will need this life long and thankfully it is an inexpensive medication. Although his long-term prognosis is unknown, every day for Sancho is a joy. He is looking for a home where, despite his imperfections, can recognize that every day is a gift, not only for Sancho but for all of us as well. If you can open your home and your heart to this hard-luck little guy, please complete an application. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccines.

A yard is required, no cats please, and can be placed with a well-socialized spayed or neutered dog.
